We are looking for a seasoned Medical Assistant (MA) capable of performing various office and clinical duties to keep our integrative primary care clinic running efficiently. The MA will work directly with healthcare practice staff to perform on-site lab tests, maintain patient records, explain common medical procedures to patients and assist in basic examinations.
MA Job Responsibilities:
- Update and maintain all digital client records
- Perform CLIA waived lab tests such as Hemoglobin A1c, Urinalysis, Spirometry, and rapid flu tests
- Record patient information such as vital signs, weight and changes in medical history prior to each appointment, as well as updating medical information if needed
- Draw blood for lab tests as needed
- Administer IV’s as needed
- Clean and prepare examination rooms prior to patient appointments
- Assist in maintaining the medical inventory and placing orders for new materials as needed
- Assist in the procedure room. (Mostly non-invasive interventional procedures.)
- Adhere to HIPAA confidentiality laws and regulations
- Other miscellaneous tasks
MA Job Qualifications:
- RMA or CMA credentials, required
- Phlebotomy Certified, preferred
- IV Certified, preferred
- Technologically savvy
- 1-2 years of MA experience required
- Inventory management experience
- Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Care Life Support (ACLS) preferred
Medical Receptionist Job Responsibilities:
- Receive patients, directing them to the appropriate staff members
- Manage patient billing
- Answer and direct phone calls
- Approve and schedule appointments for patients
- Assist with clinic events
- Assist Medical Assistants and providers when appropriate
- Collect and distribute incoming mail
- Performs other responsibilities as directed
Medical Receptionist Job Qualifications:
- 1-2 years of medical receptionist experience, preferred
- Fluent in English
- Able to converse in Spanish, preferred
- High School Diploma or equivalent required, some college preferred
- Positive, happy attitude towards people and the public
- Able to work with others in a team environment
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task
