Job Description:

This where you’ll be able to develop your problem-solving skills while investigating products suspected of not meeting specification, identifying trends of repeat issues, and working with various departments including QA, QC, R&D, Purchasing, Manufacturing, and others. The intern will support the optimization of processes, packages, storage, and distribution of goods. Help monitor and update Food Safety and Food Defense plans. Assist our QA and Engineering teams in the validation/qualification of equipment, systems, and facilities. Analyze data, monitor signals, and provide improvement ideas.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Review and update our internal complaint system by determining if investigation is deemed necessary
  • Reviews customers and international complaint investigations to provide a root cause and corrective actions as applicable in order to increase consumer satisfaction.
  • Reviews batch records, retains, testing data, manufacturing, maintenance, and sanitation records to observe any deviations or non-compliances.
  • Provides reporting of issues to Quality Engineer and Quality Director for approval of investigations
  • Identifies if CAPAs (Corrective Action/Preventive Action) are needed to prevent complaint recurrence according to CFR 21 111.75 and 121.145 to improve product quality
  • Assists quality engineer in the design, review, and execution of validation protocols for equipment, systems, and facilities

Job Qualifications:

  • Completed or pursing a BS degree in food science, microbiology, chemistry, biology or related field required
  • 1-2 years in dietary supplement Quality Assurance experience preferred.
  • Working understanding of 21 CFR 111; 117; 120 and FSMA preferred
  • Knowledge of business analysis and computer tools: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Communicate effectively by possessing excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written skills in English.
