Job Description:

Responsible for supporting supplier quality vendor management, audits, and improvements while supporting continued Quality System improvements. Focus on the Quality related aspects of our supply chain, help establish Supplier Quality Agreements, qualify / audit / validate vendors, and any test facilities, establish statistics-based sampling plans, streamline processes, and establish, maintain, and improve a supplier quality management program for doTERRA.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Track metrics related to non-conformity incidents.Monitor, evaluate, report, and improve Supplier Quality system performance metrics and provide technical support to suppliers.
  • Develop inspection and test methods (including writing and executing protocols) to verify supplied product conformance.
  • Manage, maintain and update supplier information required for the Approved Supplier List.
  • Conduct component and product Quality testing for purposes of supplier and component qualification and improvement.
  • Identify and systemically implement statistical engineering tools and techniques to evaluate supplier process capability and technical performance.
  • Collect and analyze Quality metrics relating to Supplier Quality.
  • Identify and define corrective actions and follow-up to ensure completeness and effectiveness.
  • Communicate supplier Quality risks to upper management while suggesting improvements and cost savings where possible.
  • Investigate, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrections for non-conformities related to supplied components.

Job Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, or an equivalent level of education and experience is required
  • Domestic and International Travel upwards of 25%

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree (Engineering, Science, MBA / Supply Chain Management)
  • 1-2 years’ experience in the Life Sciences or other FDA regulated industry
  • Demonstrated ability to apply statistical Quality engineering tools in a supplier environment.
  • Working knowledge of International and Domestic FDA regulations.
  • Understanding of manufacturing and assembly processes 
  • Six Sigma Green or Black Belt/LEAN Manufacturing experience a plus.

Additional skills:

  • Effective communication and conflict resolution skills.
  • Effective problem-solving techniques (i.e., Root Cause Analysis, FMEA process, Gage R&R, Validation activities, etc.).
  • Conduct effective root cause investigations assessment of corrective action strategies and effectiveness as applied to NCR’s and SCAR’s (Supplier Corrective Action Request).
  • Understanding of Risk Management principles.
